Unwelcome guests should be done only after you clear the reaper of the ice wastes and forgotten vale. That way you can teleport behind the aatxes, clear the dryders in each group, then go after the keeper of souls, killing the vengefuls without even aggroing them.

There's NO WAY that quest was designed to be like that. As far as I know, there aren't any other quests in the game that require a player to actually DIE in order to proceed. The questlog would give you instructions to die, if that were the case, and it doesn't:




Maybe my reading comprehension skills are failing me, but to me that seems to instruct me to simply kill the Keeper of Souls and then Vengeful Aatxes die immediately after.

This quest works well enough.

You can either teleport to another Reaper and kill the Keeper of Souls from behind or send in an overprotted tank to kill the Keeper and then get ganked by the Vengeful cows.

Other Elite areas also have situations that require a party member to die in order to overcome troublesome game mechanics. The Deep and The Foundry of Failed Creations come to mind.

Exactaly, my friend. But we were running Ursan Blessing, except the monks who were healing us. But basically, we couldn't continue. Becaise the reaper wouldn't give us quests, or updates on quests because he was being attacked by the Aaxtes. I hope Anet fixes this bug.

For Unwanted Guests:

Take Restore The Monuments Of Grenth first, open up the reapers at the Ice Wastes and Forgotten Veil, teleport around as necessary. You'll then need a bow to pull the closest keeper however the aatxe spawn there is usually random and sometimes you may have to aggro them as well.

My group had that problem if the attaxes are still aggroed then they do not die. The answer is to take off your armor and get your health low as possible the AI will tellthem to attack you and you run the way they cam dfrom they should follow you after a few try then teleport with the reaper to somewhere else. They will die.

cleared it in 2 hours 15 mins last night in a 7 para 1 orders nec team.....no one got one

Oh well, my para has a new addition to her HoM at least.

Now that is clever.

Too bad it isn't simple enough for a PUG to use. I mean, a paragon requires thought as opposed to c-space-barrage.

can't remember everyone elses build, will have to see if i can get it of them all, was along the lines of 2 moti para's, an expel hexes para with mending refrain, a command para with burning refrain and some cruel spear guys with an orders nec to finnish it off.

I was a moti para running:

Song of restoration
Chorus of restoration
energizing chorus
ballad of restoration
spear of lightning
There's nothing to fear
They're on fire
Signet of Return

Just goes to show paragons > PvE

My para has now completed all 3 campaigns, done DoA and UW with a total of 2 deaths. First from jadoth 2nd from being body blocked in an army of vengeful aatxes after getting a lag spike.
